Instagram Follower Tracker ("we", "our", or "the tool") is a privacy-first web application. We do not collect, store, or transmit your Instagram data. Everything is processed directly in your browser using the official data export file that Instagram provides to you.
We never ask for your Instagram username, password, or any credentials.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
- Your Instagram username or password
- Your Instagram followers or following list
- The ZIP file you upload for analysis
- Any personal information from your Instagram account
- Your browsing history on Instagram
3. Data We May Collect
Account Information (optional)
If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Session Data
If you are logged in, processed analysis results (follower counts, timestamps, session summaries) may be stored server-side so you can access your history across devices. Raw Instagram data files are never stored.
Usage Data
We may collect anonymised analytics such as page views and feature usage via standard server logs. This data contains no personally identifiable information.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage to remember your dark/light mode preference. If you are logged in, a secure session cookie is used to keep you authenticated. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Third-Party Services
This tool is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. We do not share any data with Instagram, Meta, or any other third party.
Our hosting provider may log standard HTTP access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not used for advertising or profiling.
6. Data Retention
If you have an account, your session analysis data is retained until you delete your account or request deletion. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.
7. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, hashed password storage, and rate limiting on all API endpoints. However, no system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password if you create an account.
9. Children's Privacy
This service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the tool after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
